Community Fun and Learning Day

On 27 September, TMSG’s CAMS, in partnership with TMSG's SETS Program and Headspace Townsville, successfully hosted a Community Fun and Learning Day. The event welcomed around 70 attendees and showcased the services of organisations including DESBT, Wellways, Head to Health, Services Australia, QLD Police Services (PLO), Busy at Work, TMSG-DQW, SETS - Cancer Screening Awareness, and Dance North.

Participants enjoyed a variety of interactive activities, such as music and dance workshops, Angklung and drum sessions, head wrapping, and word-guessing games. A special highlight was a surprise performance by a South Sudanese community leader who shared his talent with a traditional musical instrument to wrap up the event.

Many thanks to everyone who participated in the event, especially Headspace Townsville for hosting the event. Thank you to Wellways for their prize donations, and Woolworths Hermit Park for providing fruit donations. Special thanks goes to Deepthi and Leksmi, JCU students on placement with TMSG, for their ongoing support from preparation through to the event day.
