BIG BROTHER PROGRAM PROGRESS
BIG BROTHER PROGRAM PROGRESS
We work in partnership with Townsville State High School to deliver the Big Brother program, to target youth who may not have a male role model and would benefit from leadership, direction, social cohesion, and capacity building.
Linda Davis from Townsville State High School reports:
“As a teacher dealing constantly with relationships within the classroom and more widely within the school, I can see that the students who participate in the Big Brother Program all develop positive relationship capabilities. They learn to understand the importance of respect for themselves and one another, and judging by their willingness to continue participating in the program, the process of learning has been enjoyable. The spirit of cooperation between the boys is evident in how well they coordinate and communicate to come together each Friday after school to embark on the afternoon’s activities.’’
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Linda we look forward to continuing to make a difference to students into 2020.
