Expression of Interest: Casual Bicultural Support Workers.

We are increasing our pool of casual Bicultural Bilingual Support Workers with lived experience as migrants and refugees, by inviting people to submit Expressions of Interest with a resume and cover letter. There is no guarantee of immediate employment and the pool will be reviewed every six (6) months. Availability of work will depend on funding available and partnerships with other services.

Bicultural Support Workers are employed on a Casual basis, depending on client numbers and need. Certain languages are in more demand than others. Currently languages required are Somali, Sango and Swahili. Individuals with either of these languages will be given preference for the positions. Preference will also be given to female applicants due to the large number of women at risk clients arriving in Townsville. Further information on the role is detailed below. Salary is commensurate with SACS Level 1.

Please Note: Preference will be given to those people who have been settled in Australia a minimum of two (2) years.

Applications close at 5pm on Monday 22 July. 

Interviews will be held with the applicants in the first week of August to further discuss their expression of interest and you will be advised by telephone or email.
