POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Finance Manager is required to carry out all duties in accordance with the HSP subcontract with Multicultural Development Australia Ltd (MDA) and that of the Department of Social Services (DSS), whilst upholding the Vision, Philosophy, Mission and policies and procedures of TMSG Inc. and to act at all times with integrity and professionalism.

REPORTS TO: TMSG Manager and TMSG Management Committee.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF ROLE: The primary objective of the role is to ensure the effective and efficient governance of all TMSG financial matters in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and the governance standards of the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission.
In line with TMSG objectives, the Finance Manager will:
 Manage all financial and budgetary matters for the organisation
 Provide advice and support to the Executive Team to enable the organisation’s resources to
be managed in the most flexible and efficient manner.
ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
The position of Finance Manager:
 Reports to the TMSG Manager on a daily basis and to the Management Committee monthly
through the supply of financial reports and infographics.
 Provides leadership in the development and evaluation of financial and budgetary matters
for the organisation and supports the TMSG Manager and various Project Coordinators to monitor progress of program budgets with the goal of acquitting all project funds according to approved funding conditions.
 Manages funds of the organisation in a manner that contributes to and maintains reserves to support TMSG through troughs in business.
 Supports the TMSG Manager, senior staff and Management Committee in preparing budgets for submissions and / tenders.
 Provides high level advice based on regular monitoring of funds and prepares financial acquittal documentation for submission to funding bodies.

 Works closely with the TMSG Executive Team to ensure that TMSG operations are provided in an integrated and cost efficient manner.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
The position of TMSG Finance Manager is responsible for contributing to the effectiveness of TMSG services, through high level monitoring of financial and budgetary progress against budgets and expenditure in MYOB.
Key deliverables include:
 Recording of all financial transactions and maintenance of budgets including month by month and year to date financial reporting by service area, as agreed by the Management Committee.
 Creation of annual budgets for approval by the Management Committee.
 Provision of end of year data and support to the appointed auditor of TMSG. Provision of
monthly financial reports and analysis, including identification of ‘risk’ to the organisation.
 Provision of ad hoc reports as required by the TMSG Manager and/or the Management
Committee.
 Planning and monitoring programs within agreed timelines, developing Key Performance
Indicators and ensuring delivery and accountability against these.
 Understanding and implementing TMSG requirements to ensure compliance with reporting
and/or funding requirements.
 Supporting the TMSG Executive Team and senior staff in the development of innovative sector
solutions that meet identified priorities.
